Chris Hood joined Coffey Law in the Spring of 2025. Mr. Hood is an experienced litigator and trial lawyer who focuses his practice on defending individual providers, hospital and health care systems, and independent specialty practices in complex medical malpractice cases. He also represents physicians, mid-level providers, and nurses confronted with inquiries and investigations conducted by their respective licensing boards. 

Over the last 15 years, Mr. Hood has represented a variety of businesses and individuals involved in civil litigation matters pending before state and federal trial and appellate courts throughout North Carolina. Before he joined Coffey Law in 2025, Mr. Hood practiced with several different litigation groups at mid-sized law firms located in Charlotte. 

Mr. Hood obtained his undergraduate degree from Wake Forest University in 2007, and his law degree from Campbell University in 2010. His professional achievements have been recognized by his legal peers’ nominations and his inclusion in selective legal rating services such as Super Lawyers, Business North Carolina’s “Legal Elite,” and The Best Lawyers in America. 

Outside of practicing law, Chris enjoys traveling with his wife and their two daughters to the shore and to the girls’ cross country meets and dance competitions.
